E-Mobility: More Profit for Manufacturers Through Rapid Transformation?

The smarter E Podcast Episode 125 | February 2023 | Language: German

The transformation of the automotive industry is in full swing. This has serious consequences for manufacturers and suppliers of combustion vehicles. Together with the Boston Consulting Group, Agora Verkehrswende has published a study entitled: "Business Model Combustion Engine in Times of Electromobility," in which you have examined various scenarios for what global market shares and profits manufacturers can secure with various electrification strategies. How long will it still be worthwhile for manufacturers to sell combustion engines? What opportunities and potential can electromobility offer? And what is the best strategy for the transformation? Christian Hochfeld, Director of Agora Verkehrswende, reveals this and more to us.

Timeline:

  • 03.51: How will the global BEV share develop according to Agora forecast?
  • 06.01: Manufacturers' electrification strategy: is it worth switching fully to BEVs right away?
  • 11.27: What are the biggest advantages for BEV pioneers? In contrast, what are the biggest disadvantages for BEV laggards?
  • 20.15: We're seeing fewer and fewer small electric cars. Will we only see them from China in the long term?
