Current proposals range from coating vehicles or parking lots with PV modules to developing mobile buffer storage solutions. What do current, innovative models in the field of sector coupling look like? What potential do solutions such as vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) have? Prof. Oliver Mayer is an electrical engineer and received his doctorate from the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich in 1994 and his habilitation in the field of energy technology in 2002. He gained practical experience in the field of solar technology during his three years as an expert for GTZ in various developing countries. For almost eight years, Oliver Mayer worked in the field of systems logistics at Krauss-Maffei. For the past 15 years, he has been responsible for the areas of technologies for the energy transition and innovation methodology and quality assurance in research at General Electric's European Research Center in Garching near Munich. Prof. Oliver Mayer has been with Bayern Innovativ GmbH since 2019. He currently heads the Energy specialization field as well as the Energy Technology Cluster.
